What We do
Proudly crafting Aotearoa’s freshest chocolate from scratch.
Our mission is to create a conscious product—a real chocolate treat—made without dairy, gluten, or unnecessary additives. We use minimal ingredients, prioritizing certified organic options wherever possible, and place great importance on knowing the producers behind our goods. Supporting organic practices, local businesses, and avoiding refined sugars are the hallmarks of our brand.
We gently roast the beans to preserve the natural benefits of cacao and maintain the unique flavour of each batch of raw beans.
Currently, we use beans sourced from the Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal), with plans to add more varieties. Stay tuned!
We make chocolate in small batches, allowing it time to rest before tempering, moulding, and offering you our craft and expression of cacao.
Our Purple Peony Chocolate, including both bonbons, chocolate bars, cacao nibs from our gently roasted beans, drinking chocolate and coffee, is crafted with love and care for you to enjoy from the very first bite, sip and of course when you feel the aroma of pure product.
What we choose to use:
✓ Spray free, heavy metal tested cacao beans.
✓ Spray free South island hazelnuts for our hazelnut butters and Certified organic almonds to make almond butter for our bonbons.
✓ No refined sugars
✓ Certified organic ingredients
✓ NO Soy, Dairy or Gluten (we use organic OAT milk for our mulled wine truffle)
✓ No sugar alcohols (no xylitol, erythritol, or maltitol)
Enjoy ethical, wholefood ingredients that are pure goodness
